Anthony 'Shake' Shakir
Anthony "shake" Shakir - {frictional, 7th city, track mode, kms, serious grooves/tresor} Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan USA, Anthony began djing in high school and has been active in Detroit music since the early eighties. He was one of the featured artists on the "Techno: The New Dance Sound of Detroit" the 1988 U.K. compilation that helped launch Detroit techno in Europe. He was the drum programmer on the massively influential "Inner City - Good Life" track produced by Kevin Saunderson. In 1995, he and Claude Young formed Frictional Recordings, which he continues to run to this day. Anthony brought his sound to playing his own unique beat science, even dropping a recent Radiohead track, turning the volume way down and singing a chorus to the crowd!!!
