Ariel Pink

Ariel Pink is a songwriter, visual and recording artist from Los Angeles, California. Since the age of eight he has written and recorded hundreds (if not thousands) of original songs. By seventeen he had accumulated hundreds of his own cassette recordings. It was during this time, while working in virtual isolation, that Ariel Pink began to develop a cult following in his hometown of Los Angeles and around the world. In 2004, New York’s Animal Collective, projected him into a much broader arena with the release of The Doldrums on their Paw-Tracks label. Two other self-released albums received wide release through Paw-Tracks as well, Worn Copy and House Arrest in 2005 and 2006 respectively.

Since 2004, Pink has worked to assemble a band of musicians to recreate the rich sonic universe of his records in a live setting. The lineup finally coalesced in 2008 with the Thank’s Mom I’m Dead Tour and the release of the first new tracks featuring the full band, released as a 7″ on Mexican Summer. Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti, features keyboardist Kenny Gilmore (Lilys), bassist Tim Koh (White Magic, All Night Radio), drummer Aaron Sperske (Beachwood Sparks, Lilys), and guitarist Cole G.N. (The Samps).
