De Tropix
Islander duo De Tropix consists of two main members, Singer songwriter Cherry & Producer/vocalist Damon (Instinct). The two met whilst living in London and it soon became apparent that they shared a passion for all things musical. Cherry was raised in St Vincent & The Grenadines, before moving to England to further her performing art’s degree, which lead to Cherry featuring in numerous music videos and TV Commercials in both the UK & US. In more recent years cherry has been working and touring with XL/INTERSCOPE records signing M.I.A. singing and supporting on her live shows across the world. Instinct was raised in Luton but is now a firm resident in London. He started out in the Music game as a DJ on pirate radio shows and club nights, dabbled in music making with friends, before making his move to London to further his career on the DJ circuit and progress in music production. Damon has also produced an album of music for television which is currently featuring on MTV shows, My Super Sweet Sixteen & Cribs. Today Cherry & Instinct are working together as DE TROPIX, a group who’s songs carry the influences of many different styles and songs to capture many moods & delivers electro reggae step sounds which quiver through the bass lines in songs such as Bad Name and Oi. DE TROPIX are busy in the studio working on their debut album and are currently performing up and down the UK & EUROPE spreading their tropical vibe! Their sound is refreshing like Rubicon Lychee juice and is the injecting that the music industry needs right now!!!
