Mass Datura
Introducing new London 5 piece Mass Datura and their progressive debut 'Temporary Halo', which comes as the first of two singles to be released on 7" vinyl in the coming spring. Temporary Halo is the kind of tune capable of reeling you in from the get go, aurally enveloping you and leaving you dizzy on the other side. The song swells with warped aggressive guitar tones and whimsical mellotron melodies swirling... creating a glimmering force of both light hearted and bible black dark feeling; all wrapped with Thomas Rowe (vocals/guitar) protesting his twisted imagery of fantasies,the decaying human condition and hyper reality.
Mass Datura is the sprawling consciousness of Thomas Rowe who settled on these shores some years ago, hailing from the west coast of Canada. Thomas, who has been consistently involved in music and the arts formulated the band mid way through 2014. Influenced by and somewhat channeling peers such as Sebadoh, Sparklehorse, Modest Mouse and Beck - Mass Datura have carved out a signature sound that is sure to inject some new life into the London music scene.
Thomas is supported by a plethora of talented musicians in the form of Rob Bravery, Joseph Colkett, Harry Bohay and Nathan Ridley.
