Ricky Powell, also known as The Rickster, has seen a lot of history. He has worked as a busboy, bike messenger, Frozade vendor, substitute teacher, columnist, cable television host, comic and dog walker. But, he is best-known as a wisecracking, self-described "playground rat" who used his beat-up Minolta and party-crashing skills to become a nightlife fixture and a chronicler of the then-exploding world of hip-hop.

Ricky Powell partied through the cocaine-fueled hip hop scene of the 1980s. He also happened to have a camera with him as he did it. Sometimes known as the fourth Beastie Boy, the lazy hustler, and the doloist, Ricky has been entertaining culturists throughout the world over with tales and slide shows of debaucheries involving everyone from Warhol to Joe Namath. Ricky is a man that lived it and captured it.
Ricky is commemorating a Silver Anniversary of "Taking professional photographs on a hang-out tip" (1985-2010), as well as 20 years of his old public access show "Rappin' with The Rickster."
