The event takes place over 3 days, from Friday 30th September to Sunday 2nd October 2011 inclusive at Convention Hall & Paramount Theatre, Berkeley Hotel and Asbury Lanes in Asbury Park, New Jersey.
The three-day festival will have performances starting in the mid-afternoon, with around 30+ acts set to play live across the weekend with DJ sets until late at night, comedy, movies and more! Cinema will be hosted by Criterion and there will be a Comedy stage.
There is also an additional Jeff Mangum show on Monday 3rd October at the Paramount Theatre - tickets for which are separate from the 3 Day and Single Day festival passes.
Day Passes and different types of Weekend Pass are available.
Please see this page for a full run down off the different ticket types and links to buy them.
Day passes do not include Jeff Mangum as he has requested to perform in the stunning, but smaller Paramount theatre which will not hold the full festival capacity - therefore only Weekend Jeff Mangum ticketholders are allowed access. Jeff will play a separate solo headline show at the Paramount Theatre on the Monday night, tickets for which are $35.
The main venues are the Convention Hall, Paramount Theatre, Berkeley Hotel and Asbury Lanes. They are all very close to each other on and around the Asbury Park Boardwalk, located on the shore in Central New Jersey, 60 minutes south of New York City, conveniently accessible by the North Jersey Coast Line out of Newark and New York. The address is:
At Ocean Avenue between Asbury Ave and Sunset Avenue
Asbury Park, NJ 07712

Bands will start in the late afternoon on the Friday, but the exact time will be confirmed closer to the event. At past ATP USA events music has started at 4pm or 5pm.
Well, apart from watching over 30 fantastic live acts in great venues plus comedy, cinema hosted by Criterion, art and literature you can always dance to DJs, bowl, take a stroll down the boardwalk or if you're brave enough go for a swim!
Come and find a member of ATP staff and we'll try to solve any problem you have. The best place to find/ask for us will be listed here closer to the event.
Yes there is.
Yes, of course! There will be several bars also with live djs.
Non-American attendees should remember it is customary to tip bartenders per drink (a dollar per drink is the commonly accepted amount).
There will be food vendors on-site including some of the favourites from past ATPs such as Asia Dog, and Asbury Park has many other great places to eat & drink.
Sorry but no professional type cameras or recording devices will be allowed in the venues.
By entering the event site you agree to being filmed or photographed which may be used for marketing or promotional purposes.
Everyone that attends will need a ticket.
Under 21s can attend the event - please note wristbands to use the bars will only be granted to those with ID.
As it's so much easier to get to Asbury Park from New York City than it was to get to our last ATP venue Kutshers, this year we won't be running buses from NYC to the event. See further up for info on the buses and trains that are available!
All ATP performances will take place indoors in great venues with fantastic sound systems so there's no chance of us being rained off.
Total capacity for this festival is less than 4000 people!
All press enquiries should go to Judy at Motormouthmedia. www.motormouthmedia.com
Sorry but all acts and DJ's playing ATP are selected by the curators or by us directly. Our curators have a list as long as their arms of acts they would like to invite, and so do we! So if you haven't been invited it is not likely to happen. Sorry, maybe next year?
The only merchandise we currently allow to be sold is ATP merchandise like T-shirts or CDs and also merchandise by artists performing at the event.
Subject to change - will be confirmed closer to the event.
Friday: 5pm
Saturday: 12pm
Saturday: 12pm
Monday (Jeff Mangum show - separate from festival tickets): 7pm
Yes, unless you have the 'Portishead Three Day Pass' which guarantees access to both Portishead shows, you are only guaranteed to see Portishead once.
If this applies to you, when you check-in on arrival at the event you will be asked to choose whether to see the band on Saturday or Sunday.
Before the two Portishead shows the room will be cleared - it will then be re-opened and people with guaranteed access on that night will enter, as will Day ticketholders.
If you don't have a priority access pass on either night, there will be a separate queue you can form and you may be allowed into the performance on a one in, one out basis, however day ticket holders and weekend pass holders with priority access pass will be allowed in ahead of you.
Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances the different types of Weekend Pass were announced at different times, causing some confusion for which we apologise.
To see a full rundown of the different types, click here.
The main thing to remember is that we have not changed any of the original Weekend passes in any way except by name - we have just added on new types - so if you bought a ticket before the new types were announced then we have not downgraded it in any way. If the page above doesn't answer your questions, please feel free to email us at feedback @ atpfestival.com and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
