  • When Is It?

    The event takes place over three days from, Friday 4th - Sunday 6th December 2009. Check in begins on Friday at midday and Check out occurs on Monday morning at 10am sharp.

  • What is included in the ticket price?

    The event is held in a holiday resort so your ticket includes a pass to the festival + 3 nights accommodation which is either Self Catered (£160) and has private bathrooms and private bedrooms, a kitchen with cooking facilities and a lounge with a TV, or Room Only accommodation (£150) which has private bathroom, bed(s) and a TV. The TV has a channel programmed by my bloody valentine and ATP.

    Because of the venue licence you cannot purchase tickets without accommodation or buy day tickets, so all tickets will include a festival pass + accommodation for 3 nights!

    So you basically stay on site in your own private accommodation with your friends for 3 nights and you ALSO get a pass to see all of the bands perform over 3 days, plus clubs with DJs until early in the morning, free cinema programme, use of site facilities such as tropical swimming complex and much more!

  • What if I have a problem with my ticket order?

    If you have a problem with your ticket, first you should go back to point of purchase with your enquiry. Here are the contacts details for the companies festival tickets will be sold through:

  • When Will I Receive My Tickets?

    Tickets should be received at the latest by approximately one month before the event (depending when you buy). International (non-UK) guests tickets will be held at Willcall and can be collected with photo ID and the credit card used to pay for the tickets from the box office at the event.

    Also enclosed with the tickets will be a damages disclaimer form, which you will need to sign and bring with you. If there are any broken or missing items this will be charged to the credit card that made the booking. If, when you arrive in your accommodation and something doesn't work please inform the staff at the main reception and they will arrange for a replacement.

    On this form you will also need to provide the full names of the guests staying in your accommodation. Please ensure that you have this form filled out before you check-in.

    INFORMATION FOR ANYONE WHO PURCHASES THROUGH WE GOT TICKETS

    If you purchase your tickets via We Got Tickets your tickets will be held at the site box office for collection. All necessary documentation regarding the check-in procedure will be emailed to you prior to the festival. If you have not received this email, please contact We Got Tickets and ask them to resend you the information.

  • What Times Can I Check In / Out?

    The reception area will open from midday on Friday morning for check-in, however the venues will not be open until later in the day, please check the website nearer the time of the event for full details of venue opening times.

    You will be provided with 2 key cards per accommodation if you encounter any problems using them please go back to the reception area where they will re-program the card.

    Latest checkout is by 10am sharp on Monday morning.

  • I'm arriving in Minehead on Thursday Night can I check in then?

    Unfortunately not, we are setting up all through the night on Thursday and cannot have any guest's onsite.

  • What Does The Accommodation Include?

    Room Only Accommodation:
    Have either 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms, with private bathroom (bath or shower) and TV in the main bedroom, bedding is provided however you will need to provide towels.

    Self Catering Accommodation:
    Have either 2 or 3 bedrooms, with private bathroom (bath or shower), kitchen and separate lounge area with TV, bedding is provided however you will need to provide towels.

  • What Do I Need To Bring/Purchase?

    You will need to bring the following with you:

    Towels: there are no towels available on-site so please don't forget
    Toiletries: obviously
    Food / Drink: (there are shops onsite where you can purchase things if you like)

  • How Do I Get To The Site?

    Butlins Holiday Resort Minehead, Somerset , TA24 5SH is located near Taunton.

    By Road:

    check out www.theaa.com/travelwatch/planner_main.jsp and put in your postcode. Butlins Minehead Holiday Resort postcode is TA24 5SH.

    Heading north the simplest route is to take the M5 to Taunton (Junction 25), then take the A358 and A39 to Minehead. Heading south on the M5, you can follow the signposts for the A39 from junction 24. Butlins Minehead Holiday Resort is just half a mile along the seafront road from Minehead town centre. Butlins is signposted from the M5 and from Bridgwater and Taunton.

    Please also note that there is FREE PARKING for attendees on-site at Butlins but we do recommend you use public transport...

    By Public Transport:

    If you are travelling by train, the nearest main line station to Minehead is Taunton. A bus transfer service is operated by Southern National between Taunton Station and Minehead. This service is available at an additional cost. On Mondays to Saturdays, there's approximately an hourly service, with the last bus leaving Taunton Railway Station at 10:15 pm. On Sundays and Bank Holidays services run every 2 hours from 9:35 am - 9:35 pm. For general information call Southern National on 01823 272033. Please note that National Express coaches stop inside the main entrance.

    You can get really good deals by being organised and ordering train tickets early. Sometimes its also worth looking at the prices of single fairs, as sometimes two singles can be cheaper than a return.

    Please see below for information from Festival Tour Bus regarding new bus services from a number of locations in GB to both of our Christmas festivals. We hope that this will provide an easier service for many of you in further off places to get to the events!

    Coach travel is the most environmentally friendly form of public transport and in 2006 an estimated 285,000 tCO2e were saved from using coaches instead of cars (data ECCM). - This is equivalent to reducing up to 16 cars on the road per coach travelling.

  • Can I Park On-site?

    Yes you can park onsite.

    Also, please be considerate when parking and do not block any exits as this will result in your car being towed off site.

  • What about coaches from Taunton to Minehead?

    Due to the high numbers that arrive by train Butlins are organising additional buses to meet the trains at Taunton station, and to take you back on Monday morning, spaces are limited and must be pre booked.

    Buses can be booked by phone by calling +44 (0)845 070 4760.

    Times:

    Friday 4th and 11th December:

    From Taunton Train station to Butlins Minehead
    12, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm, 5pm, 6pm

    Monday 7th and 14th December:

    From Butlins Minehead to Taunton Train Station
    Coaches at 7am, 8:30am, 10:15am

    Buses cost £6 for a single journey or £10 per person for a return journey.

    If people do not book in advance, on Friday (and IF there are spare seats on a coach) Butlins will be selling tickets via the team members they will have at Taunton Station to ensure the smooth operation. Throughout the weekend Butlins will sell any empty seats for the Monday coaches for £6pp on Resort.

  • What Time Do The Bands Start On Friday and Finish on Sunday?

    Usually bands begin around 4pm or 5pm on the Friday. A full schedule of times will be posted up on the site nearer to the time.

    Music usually finishes at around 3am on Monday morning with DJs continuing until around 5am.

  • What Else Is There To Do?

    Apart from nursing a huge hangover, there is a superb sandy beach. The site not only has a supermarket, newsagent and cash points, it also has Burger King, Pizza Hut, Finnigan's fish and chips, Sun and Moon, Skyline Cafe and Yacht Club Dining room. Onsite facilities include a cinema (with films picked by your curators and ATP!), Ten-pin bowling and amusement arcade. Sports include Archery, Football, Basketball, Darts, Petanque, Fencing, Kwik Cricket, Netball, Rounders, Table Tennis, Outdoor Bowls and Crazy Golf (some of these are subject to availability). Also Splash Water world; probably the largest water fun centre in the southwest of England, with a huge wave pool, a swimming pool, 3 flumes, ranging from fairly sedate to the almighty space bowl, where you exit the flume at 40mph in to a bowl and when your momentum reduces, drop in to a 2m deep plunge tank. Also there is the Master Blaster - a flume based raft ride, plus bubble pools and a sub-tropical environment.

  • Where Do I Go If I Have A Problem Over the Weekend?

    If you have any problem over the weekend, please go to the main reception firstly to see if anyone there can help, or just ask one of the security or reception staff if you can speak with Barry, Shaun or Deborah from ATP.

  • Is There An ATM/Cash Machine Onsite?

    There are 3 cash machines on resort and most of the venues and shops do cash back from Debit Cards.

  • What Happens If I Lose/Break My Wristband?

    If you lose or break your wristband please come to the main reception. If you have the broken wristband please bring this with you so it can be replaced straight away.

    If however you lose your wristband, please bring some form of identification with you so we can double-check your name on the accommodation listing. Photo ID would obviously be best.

    If your wristband has been put on too tight please go to the main reception and we will swap it for you.

  • Our band would like to play ATP and they are great, how do I go about it getting them booked in?

    Sorry but all acts and DJ's playing ATP are selected by the curators. my bloody valentine have a list as long as their arms of acts they want to invite. So if you haven't been invited it is not likely to happen. Sorry, maybe next year?

  • Is there a bar at the event?

    Each of the venues:

    • Centre Stage
    • Reds
    • Crazy Horse
    • Pavilion

    have Bar facilities.

    There are also various bars on site:

    • Sun & Moon - Traditional pub with Carvery and big screen for sports.
    • Irish Bar - Irish themed pub with large beer garden and Karaoke.
    • Bar Rosso - In the Skyline, Cafe -Bar style, open terrace in to the Skyline.
    • HotShots - Accessed from the Skyline, Full sports Bar with Big Screens for sport, pool, snooker, the latest video games, (extra charge) Darts and home of the 10 pin Bowling.
    • Jumpin Jaks - Night Club Venue.
    • The Yacht Club - Cafe bar with Costa Coffee.

  • What about under 18s/kids/babies?

    Yes, there are facilities for families at the Minehead festival at Butlins and you are welcome to bring children.

    Under 13’s are not allowed in venues after 8pm, 13 – 18’s will only be allowed in venues after 8pm if accompanied by an (over 18) adult.

    If under 18's/children require beds they will need to purchase a ticket, however if they are in cots (and under the age of 5) they will not need a ticket. Cots can be hired from Butlins.

    Please bear in mind that the event is catered towards adults, so it is your responsibility to ensure that they are not exposed to adult content on the televisions or elsewhere at the festival. So saying that, there are child minding facilities that are available (although you should book these ahead with the resort) as well as many activities that are suitable for children such as the waterpark facility.

  • I have a stall at Glastonbury/other festivals and would like to set up at ATP, how do I go about it?

    The only merchandise we currently sell is ATP merchandise like T-shirts or CDs and also merchandise by artists performing at the event. All food and drink are provided by the venues so please do not contact us regarding food/drink vending.

  • Can I Buy a Ticket without Accommodation?

    As we have to hire the entire Butlins site including all chalets for the festival weekend, we are unfortunately unable to offer cheaper tickets that don't include accommodation, as it would mean we would end up with lots of empty chalets.

  • What about Disabled Access/Carers?

    Butlins Resort facilities are fully accessible, specific information on each venue/bar/restaurant is detailed below:

    • Centre Stage has a lift for those with mobility issues. Please observe the weight limits as some of the big mobility scooters may be too heavy, if this is the case Butlins can provide alternative scooters for guests. There are Disabled Toilets inside.
    • Reds has ramp access and disabled toilets.
    • Crazy horse is single level access and has a disabled toilet.
    • Jaks has ramp access and a disabled toilet.
    • Irish Bar has a single level access but no disabled toilet.
    • Sun & Moon has single level access and a disabled toilet.
    • The whole of Skyline is totally accessible on same level and with ramps to Skyline Cafe. There are disabled toilets in Skyline.
    • All the guest restaurants have disabled access, same level and either toilet facilities in them, or near by.

  • What is happening on the days between the two December ATP events? Can I stay at Butlins?

    If you are planning to come to both weekends, or wish to stay on after weekend 1 (or come early to weekend 2!) we have limited availability for people to stay on site during the week in between. This will cost £100 per person for the four nights, and is only available as 4 berth self-catering. If you book a 4 berth self-catering apartment for both weekends you will be able to stay in the same apartment. If you have booked other accommodations for weekend 1, you will need move into a 4 berth self-catering from Monday to Thursday or Monday to Monday if you book a 4 berth self catering apartment at weekend 2. To book, please contact feedback@atpfestival.com with IN BETWEEN DAYS in the subject line and include your booking references and the type of accommodation you have booked.
     
    All apartments are to be charged at £400 for four people for the four days. People staying can be people who are staying from weekend one, people who are arriving early for weekend two, or people who are not attending either event but wish to come for the week in between. Please note, it is the responsibility of the ticket buyer to ensure the correctly wristbanded persons are sleeping in the apartment at any one time.
     
    If you only have 2 people in your party who wish to stay, we can place you in a share-a-chalet for the 4 days with another 2 people, so you don’t have to pay for the empty beds.
     
    Please note people who are not attending either of the weekend events but wish to come should contact feedback@atpfestival.com for a full list of terms and conditions.
     
    During the week Crazy Horse will be open and we’ll be putting on light entertainment including bands and djs.

  • What's the policy on bringing your own alcohol on-site?

    Butlins requests that all festival attendees do not bring excessive quantities of alcohol onto the resort. The quantity that is deemed excessive will be at the discretion of Butlins. If any ATP attendees ignores this, their alcohol will be removed and returned at the end of the weekend. If any attendees repeatedly ignore this, they may be asked to leave Butlins.

    If Butlins feel that this request is being ignored then further action might be taken, which could include the searching of vehicles entering the resort. Therefore, they, and we, do request that you try not to openly flaunt the policy on excessive amounts!
