Felix Lajko

Yugoslavian born Felix Laiko was first handed a violin at the age of twelve. It was soon apparent that he had a flair for the instrument “ he was to go on to finish six years of music school in just three. Felix does not belong to any genre, as said in his own words: "My music is based on the delicacy and colourfulness of my instrument". I only follow my own path and improvise and write music. I cannot see differences between musical styles and ways, so I play folk-, classical-, rock-, blues-, and improvisational music. Laiko has toured extensively in Europe, playing with many renowned and varied musicians, including Japans Min Tanaka, and the French band Noir Desir. He has even been the subject of a film shot by famous Hungarian director Miklas Jancsa. Jansco said of Laiko - "He is a kind of a free spirit in this strange world, and through his self-expression he transmits feelings as if he was living in another sphere." Laiko even admits himself "I am not a normal person, and the people that come to my concerts are probably not really that interested in seeing a normal person."
