Horse Guards Parade

HORSE GUARDS PARADE formed in the summer of 2008 and spent the autumn and winter writing and recording songs. In January 2009 the band started playing live throughout britain. March saw the band self release their first E.P. which was enthusiastically received and played on BBC 6 MUSIC, BBC RADIO 2 and given a big thumbs up by STEVE LAMACQ. This support helped HORSE GUARDS PARADE secure more gigs throughout Britain and also record a live radio session for BBC INTRODUCING.

August saw the band play both THE BIG CHILL FESTIVAL and THE READING/LEEDS FESTIVAL on the BBC INTRODUCING STAGE and be highlighted on the BBC WEBSITE. During the rest of the year they played more gigs and supported JARVIS COCKER and HOWE GELB of GIANT SAND. It was a great honor to play with both.

In the autumn HORSE GUARDS PARADE we're featured on the SIMON MAYO show on BBC RADIO 5Live, where they played a live acoustic song and were interviewed. The rest of the year was spent recording their debut album.

In 2010 the band plan to finish the recordings and start playing live again in the spring. They have also been asked to contribute a song to a PHILIP LARKIN tribute album and preparations for summer festivals are already underway.
