Liquid Liquid

Survivors of early eighties post-punk, Liquid Liquid are all rhythm and history. A history which cannot be understood without the rhythm or without hearing their first recordings in which the New Yorkers started to mix Latin and African rhythms with funk and influences of Can and Pil. Quintessential restless minimalism, the band formed by Scott Hartley, Richard McGuire, Salvatore Principato and Dennis Young released 3 live EP’s, and recorded tracks like “Optimo” and “Cavern”, the former which was sampled by Grandmaster Flash in “White Lines”. After two decades of silence, they reappeared live in 2008 coinciding with the release of “Slip In And Out Phenomenon”, an anthology of all their work from the beginning of the eighties.
