Wolf Alice

Wolf Alice consist of Ellie Rowsell, Joel Amey and Joff. Joff’s huge mancrush on Willy Mason had him and Ellie playing folk music out and about in North London. It was only when they met Joel, with his real ray bans and huge collars, that they decided to ditch the acoustic guitar and learn a thing or two about rock ‘n’ roll. Now they play head banging psychofreak poprock, keeping the sensitive lyrics and sharp melodies that had already got them a fair crowd at their gigs. The DIY aspect of Wolf Alice combined with an almost haunting intelligence makes for “the most charming band since Busted”.

Having built up their reputation with a string of live appearances alongside the likes of buzzy Birmingham troupe Swim Deep, as well as up-and-comers Temples and JAWS, Wolf Alice’s sound has been tuning many an ear in in recent months. ‘Leaving You’ is the lastest to add to their growing canon, with Ellie Rowsell’s softly-softly introduction giving way to  a saloon-door swing of guitar-based anthemry.
