"One of the great surprises of looking through all the fan-footage sent to us over the course of making All Tomorrow’s Parties was discovering the material of Vincent Moon. Back in early 2007 he sent us a short film he’s made at the Thurston Moore Nightmare Before Christmas event, and the footage was so amazing, we asked him back to shoot material at every ATP since. His material has been a key part of the film and in the meantime Vincent has become a hugely successful filmmaker in his own right, most famous for the Take Away shows. He’s a consummate fan, with an uncanny ability to capture the festival from the fan’s point of view, and we’ve asked him back to make a short film around each festival moving forward.
He is currently finishing the edit of From Ghosts, a film shot at last years My Bloody Valentine curated New York ATP. These clips are an amazing reminder of an incredible festival, that one Pitchfork reporter called “the most enjoyable festival experience I’ve ever had”.
