Name Of Artist: Samara Lubelski

Hometown: New York city

Year Formed: 1967

Do your best to describe the sound of your band in one sentence:

This particular solo project tends toward the soft and insular - with an alienated, lyrical stance.

What are the most recent activities of your band?

The release of solo rec, Wavelength, on DeStijl, and collaborations with Metabolismus, Thurston Moore, Marcia Bassett and Metal Mountains.

How excited are you to play this event?

This will be my 5th ATP (in various guises). It's gonna be a blast!

Do you have a connection with Deerhunter / an idea why you were chosen to play?

Fans of the music!

Which of your releases do you feel ATP attendees should check out first?

The most recent - Wavelength. A song rec, steeped in arrangements, aided by members of Metabolismus, P.G.  Six, Steve Shelley, and more.  Or, for the more experimental/improv inclined: Sunday Night, Sunday Afternoon with Marcia Bassett.

Is there one of your tracks you think specifically represents you best?

Solo: http://vimeo.com/m/48141262
In collaboration - playing violin on Thurston Moore's "Off Work"
Or any Metal Mountains track.

Are there any other currently confirmed bands you're excited about seeing?

Very excited to see Kim Gordon with Bill Nace and Ikue More. I heard that Ikue More will be playing live drums!  They say it's been twenty years since she was behind the kit.

If you were curating, name three bands you'd want to play your event...

Mike Wexler
Monsieur Morio
Le Stella di Mario Schifano

If you could pick one record release in the last year which would you recommend?

Rhyton - The Emerald Tablet

What have your previous experiences at ATP been like? Any favourite memories?

Yeah, played the Nightmare Before Christmas with MV/EE And the Bummer Road. I saw many excellent shows, but at some point a girl ran into our chalet from across the road. "They've started pulling out the fixtures" she yelled. She was giddy with excitement and, somehow, best reflected the feeling of that weekend.
