There may be no other band in the world that has traced a path quite like Japan's Boredoms.  Across over 20 years, founder and leader EYE has taken the band on a cosmic road trip, from the early swamps of chaos through times of tribal frenzy, oceanic tranquility, and massive sonic constructions. Perhaps most remarkable is the unceasing commitment to vision above all
else, and the effects of that commitment. The influence of Boredoms in underground, experimental, noise, and performance-based music cannot be overstated.

On 07/07/07, EYE and company gathered 77 like-minded drummers to perform a unique piece that was both an auditory adventure and a visual spectacle. Another unique event on 08/08/08 with 88 drummers (both in NYC and LA) for a spectacle that expanded the piece compositionally as well as conceptually... Drum. Since then Boredoms has been working projects on Boadrum. In 2008, with 88 drummers, 2009 with 9 drummers in NYC, in 2010 with 10 drummers in Melbourne Art festival, in 2011 with 10 drummers and 101 cymbal players in Byron bay.

In 2012, their performances will be very rare and entirely new. Eye will play with 5 drummers, and 14 guitar players, less a conductor and more the nexus of an energy orb. Music and performance are intertwined and for the boredoms it is a living and breathing whole.
