The KVB

The KVB is the audio/visual project of Nicholas Wood & Kat Day, based in London, UK. Combining shoegaze guitars, minimal synth melodies, hypnotic drum machine beats and reverb drenched vocals with haptic imagery. The KVB was initially started as a solo project by Nick in 2010. The project’s debut release came in the form of a limited edition cassette tape (“The Black Sun?) on cult underground label FLA Records in May 2010.

This was followed in 2011 by a series of acclaimed releases; including a 10” vinyl EP on Downwards Records (“Into The Night”) & another limited edition cassette, this time on Clan Destine Records (“Subjection/Subordination”).

After frequent collaborations throughout the year, Kat joined The KVB permanently on synths and visuals in late 2011.

2012 saw their schedule get even busier, with the release of their first full length LP, “Always Then? (Clan Destine Records) and multiple European headline tours in support of the record, with shows in Germany, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Greece, Spain etc.

In February 2013 The KVB released their second full length LP 'Immaterial Visions' via Minimal Wave sub label Cititrax, along with an accompanying remix EP, featuring remixes from underground
techno pioneers Regis and Silent Servant amongst others. This was followed by more extensive touring, including shows in Russia & Ukraine and festivals in Italy and Denmark.

The KVB signed with A Recordings (BJM Anton Newcombe's label) in the summer of 2013, and on 2nd November they will release their 8track EP “Minus One”. Additionally, a digital single entitled “Run Away”, will precede the EP out on 30th September via Ample Play (Tjinder Singh & Ben Ayres of Cornershop’s label).

The band are currently in Anton Newcombe's Berlin studio working on a new EP for release in January 2014. After recording they will perform a string of European dates, including ATP's End Of An Era,which will be ATP’s final Camber Sand's festival in November 2013. The following month they will support Brian Jonestown Massacre on their Australian Tour and shortly after, they will embark to Brazil for their first shows in South America.
