Cult horror composers Claudio Simonetti (Goblin) and Fabio Frizzi join master of horror John Carpenter at ATP Iceland 2016 for a spectacular celebration of soundtrack mastery.

New additions also include the influential, instrumental trio Dirty Three, experimentalists This Is Not This Heat, international icon Omar Souleyman, Montreal's Suuns - as well as excellent Icelandic acts such as Valdimar, Kimono, and Muck.

After a long career mainly marked by composing the soundtracks for Dario Argento's movies such as Profondo Rosso, Suspiria, and Tenebrae, Claudio Simonetti and his band head to ATP Iceland to perform the most successful Goblin hits which made Italian progressive rock and horror movie soundtrack history.

Another undisputed master of Italian horror soundtracks, Fabio Frizzi is set to perform new compositions and celebrate his special partnership with the late ‘Godfather of Gore', director Lucio Fulci at ATP Iceland this July. Taking cues from the Frizzi 2 Fulci project, Fabio Frizzi's live show has evolved into something even more spectacular. Joined by the Frizzi 2 Fulci Orchestra and vocalists, he performs his dark and brooding scores to worldwide splatter sensations like Zombie Flesh Eaters and other blood soaked epics such as Seven Notes In Black, City Of The Living Dead, Manhattan Baby, as well as going deeper into the horror, thriller, rock and prog career of the Maestro's new orchestrations. Already well-known among Italian horror aficionados, Frizzi was introduced to a wider audience when the theme from The Psychic (a.k.a. Seven Notes In Black) was used in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill, Vol. 1.

ATP Iceland are also excited to present Fabio Frizzi performing a live-score to horror masterpiece The Beyond, which celebrates 35 years since filming.

Playing "the hits and the ones that got away", ATP favourites Dirty Three also head to Keflavík. We couldn't agree more with Warren Ellis' promise that, "on a good day, there's nothing quite like us on the stage". Plus, This Heat founding members Charles Bullen and Charles Hayward will join together under the banner of This Is Not This Heat to perform new interpretations of their influential music.

After several years spent whipping the world into a dabke-induced frenzy, legendary Syrian singer and Arab icon Omar Souleyman joins ATP Iceland as a full-blown, phenomenon of international music. Suuns tour new album Hold/Still, and Growing bring their hypnotic, rhythmic drone from Brooklyn, NY all the way to Iceland.

Showcasing the very best in Icelandic music, we host pop band Valdimar, rock group Kimono, and uncompromising hardcore outfit Muck. Younghusband return to ATP Iceland for a second year, whilst Fuck Button's Andrew Hung, USA Out Of Vietnam, Mario Batkovic, JC Flowers, Grimm Grimm and ADSL Camels head to Iceland for the first time to premiere their new music.

About ATP Iceland

"Expectations met, exceeded and transcended, it brings the curtain down on this writer's festival experience, a like-minded mecca in which spectacular weight and sublime restraint went hand-in-hand."
The Line of Best Fit, 2015

"This weekend was without a doubt the best music festival I've ever been to"
KEXP, 2014

ATP Iceland will be held at Ásbrú, in Keflavík, Iceland. The site is located only 5 minutes away from Iceland's main international airport, 15 minutes from the famous Blue Lagoon and 30 minutes from Reykjavík. The festival site will host two indoor stages and a cinema showing films picked by ATP and the bands, late-night DJs, as well as usual ATP activities such as the ATP Pop Quiz.

All Tomorrow's Parties has been promoting festivals and concerts throughout the world for almost fourteen years. It was founded in the wake of Belle and Sebastian's Bowlie Weekender, with Mogwai curating in the unusual setting of Pontins Holiday Camp, Camber Sands, UK. Since then the festival has appeared every year and has expanded across the globe continuing to set itself apart from large scale corporate festivals by staying intimate and fan-focused.

The line-ups are often chosen by significant artists which results in eclectic events that combine performances by legendary and influential acts with appearances by the latest crop of experimental artists from any (and every) musical genre. The festival has become more successful with every passing year, and ATP events have taken place in the UK, USA, Europe and Australia, with past curators including actors Tilda Swinton, Jim Jarmusch, and musicians Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Mike Patton, My Bloody Valentine, Portishead, Sonic Youth, Slint, and Tortoise.

In 2011 ATP launched a new series of curated city-based events called I'll Be Your Mirror, with events so far taking place in Tokyo, London, Asbury Park New Jersey, New York City and Melbourne. ATP has set itself apart from other festivals by embracing seemingly disparate artistic genres, with events featuring art exhibitions, cinema programmes, spoken word performances and stand up comedy. It's been called 'Unforgettable' by Spin and 'the most enjoyable festival experience of our reporter's life' by Pitchfork. It has spawned an acclaimed concert series (Don't Look Back), a record label (ATP Recordings), and the release of a feature length documentary.
