Dead Meadow

Combining a love of 70s rock and boogie with a strong 60s psychedelic and eastern influence has earned US band Dead Meadow a cult following the world over. Formed in Washington DC but now residents of Los Angeles, California, Dead Meadow released their eponymous debut in 2000 before unleashing the appropriately titled Howls From the Hills in 2001. A reputation for fierce live shows saw the release of a live album in 2002 before Dead Meadow signed to hip NYC label Matador in 2003 and began the slow process of waking up the public consciousness to their 'Dead' sound. The most recent album Old Growth - released in 2008 - has gone closest to supporting this theory and is their most accessible album to date.
