Herman Dune

The brothers Herman Dune: Andre, David-Ivar and Neman gather several times a year, each time in a different city, in the Old or in the New World, once every season, to record the twins new songs and perform them on tour, sometimes accompanied by their sister Lisa or their Canadian friend Julie Doiron. Their father Tresor and their mother Kicki, founders of a sort of Jewish version of the Carter clan, taught them how to speak English through repeated cover sessions of Grand American 1950-60s songs, in which they rooted their Love for Poetry and Songwriting. Since their first album in Year 2000, they released six studio albums on DIY-cult Label Shrimper, California (also home of The Mountain Goats, Sentridoh, Refrrigerator or Dump) and with British Pop Bandits Track and Field, London. John Peel and BBC1 have been great supporters of the Herman Dune, as they recorded 12 Peel Sessions for John, including two at his place. Their Quest for The Good Song lead them to New York, NY where they intensively performed and collaborated with the local underground Artistic Community and Scene in which they found many touring companions. One of the singing twins still lives in Brooklyn, NY, while the other has settled down in Berlin, Germany though they are now officially residents of an Art Center in Paris, France, where Neman lives and keeps his enhanced drum set. They should soon get together again to record a following to their widely acclaimed latest album ?Not On Top?. At this occasion they?ll play a small number of shows in Europe and in the UK, and are: ?very happy to be able to stop by All Tomorrows Parties Festival, and honored to be the guests of Dinosaur JR and ATP?, as Lisa, their sister, tells us. -Dr Hans Kahn, The Monks Magazine, Providence, RI.
