Described as the "ultimate mix tape", All Tomorrow's Parties is a boutique festival that goes against the grain of the larger, more commercial music festivals - with quality and customer experience coming ?rst - presenting award winning sound and acclaimed organisation. ATP  came to Australia in February for a special I'll Be Your Mirror event in Melbourne co-curated by The Drones. Beat called it "an unquestionable success" with TheVine adding that it "desperately needs to happen again."

Recently ATP announced their return to Melbourne for a special all day Halloween party called Release The Bats. Held on the Saturday 26th October, it will feature an incredible line-up of international and Australian artists chosen by ATP, and will be headlined by The Breeders performing Last Splash and The Jesus Lizard (both bands performing their only Victorian shows). Halloween fancy dress is encouraged, and those dressed as something to do with one of the bands will be eligible to win some excellent prizes.

Today ATP add to the line-up:

  • TELEVISION (USA) performing Marquee Moon - one of the most influential American rock bands, New York City's Television will come to Altona to perform the classic Marquee Moon album in full - this is their only Victorian show and their only Australian performance of the album.
  • BALAM ACAB (USA) - Balam Acab is the solo project for Alec Koone, a 21 year old Pennsylvania resident who released his critically acclaimed debut album WANDER/WONDER in 2011. It’s a mysterious and genuinely haunting record which seems to exist in a world all of it’s own making, balanced between the ecstatic ‘wonder’ referenced in the title and something altogether more indefinable and uncertain of itself.
  • POP CRIMES (The Songs of Rowland S. Howard) (AUS) - A cast of performers put together by Mick Harvey and playing tribute to Rowland, including friends, family and collaborators. Covering the music of the late Rowland S. Howard from These Immortal Souls and Rowland's Solo albums.

Line-Up:

The Breeders performing Last Splash (only Victorian show)
Television performing Marquee Moon (only Victorian show)
the Jesus Lizard (only Victorian show)

Artwork:

The amazing artwork for this event is by acclaimed artist Camille Rose Garcia.

Camille Rose Garcia was born in 1970 in Los Angeles, California, The child of a Mexican activist filmmaker father and a muralist/painter mother, she apprenticed at age 14 working on murals with her mother while growing up in the generic suburbs of Orange County, visiting Disneyland and going to punk shows with the other disenchanted youth of that era. Garcia’s layered, broken narrative paintings of wasteland fairy tales are influenced by William Burroughs’ cut-up writings and surrealist film, as well as vintage Disney and Fleischer cartoons, acting as critical commentaries on the failures of capitalist utopias, blending nostalgic pop culture references with a satirical slant on modern society. Her work has been displayed internationally and featured in numerous magazines including Juxtapoz, Rolling Stone, and Modern Painter, and is included in the collections of the Los Angeles County Museum as well as the San Jose Museum of Art, which held a retrospective of her work, Tragic Kingdom, in 2007.
