All Tomorrow's Parties are sorry to have to forward the following cancellation announcement for one of the artists playing next month's Release The Bats event:

"The Jesus Lizard regret to announce they are no longer able to come to Australia/NZ for their October dates due to unforeseen circumstances. They hope to make it down to Australia in the near future."

ATP apologise to fans who are disappointed - a replacement artist is currently being arranged and the rest of the line-up will remain the same. Tickets will be dispatched in 10 days time, with Bus Tickets from the Melbourne CBD also going on sale soon via the ATP website. Full travel details will be emailed to all event ticketholders at that time.

Here's the full info on the event - tickets are on sale now but going fast...

Described as the "ultimate mix tape", All Tomorrow's Parties is a boutique festival that goes against the grain of the larger, more commercial music festivals - with quality and customer experience coming ?rst - presenting award winning sound and acclaimed organisation. ATP  came to Australia in February for a special I'll Be Your Mirror event in Melbourne co-curated by The Drones. Beat called it "an unquestionable success" with TheVine adding that it "desperately needs to happen again."

ATP will return to Melbourne for a special all day Halloween party called Release The Bats. Held on the Saturday 26th October, it will feature an incredible line-up of international and Australian artists chosen by ATP, and will be headlined by The Breeders performing Last Splash and Television performing Marquee Moon (both bands performing their only Victorian shows and it will be Television's only Australian performance of Marquee Moon). Halloween fancy dress is encouraged, and those dressed as something to do with one of the bands will be eligible to win some excellent prizes.

Line-Up so far:

The Breeders performing Last Splash (only Victorian show)
Television performing Marquee Moon (only Victorian show)
The Scientists
F*ck Buttons
Lightning Bolt
Sleep
Pop Crimes (The Songs of Rowland S. Howard)
Forest Swords
Total Control
Balam Acab

Date:
The festival takes place on Saturday October 26th 2013, starting at midday and running until 1am - headliners will finish by 11pm.

Location: Another unique aspect of ATP’s I’ll Be Your Mirror is the location, offering both indoor and outdoor space just a stones throw from the CBD. The Westgate Entertainment Centre and Grand Star Receptions - two venues in one complex in Altona - just 13km away from the centre of Melbourne. And no - it won't be as hot as last time. There will be two stages, a cinema, art exhibition and an amazing food court. The event is limited to just 5000 attendees. One of the extracurricular highlights of our recent event, Pricasso, will return to paint some special Halloween portraits in his own inimitable style.

Transport: There will be a shuttle bus operating from Newport Station (the nearest station to the festival) to the venue and back priced at $2 each way. You can catch a train to Newport Station from Flinders Street, Southern Cross, North Melbourne, South Kensington, Footscray, Seddon, Yarraville, Spotswood and Williamstown. We will be running other buses from the CBD you can pre-book closer to the event and there is also on-site parking available at the venue. Artwork:

The amazing artwork for this event is by acclaimed artist Camille Rose Garcia.

Camille Rose Garcia was born in 1970 in Los Angeles, California, The child of a Mexican activist filmmaker father and a muralist/painter mother, she apprenticed at age 14 working on murals with her mother while growing up in the generic suburbs of Orange County, visiting Disneyland and going to punk shows with the other disenchanted youth of that era. Garcia’s layered, broken narrative paintings of wasteland fairy tales are influenced by William Burroughs’ cut-up writings and surrealist film, as well as vintage Disney and Fleischer cartoons, acting as critical commentaries on the failures of capitalist utopias, blending nostalgic pop culture references with a satirical slant on modern society. Her work has been displayed internationally and featured in numerous magazines including Juxtapoz, Rolling Stone, and Modern Painter, and is included in the collections of the Los Angeles County Museum as well as the San Jose Museum of Art, which held a retrospective of her work, Tragic Kingdom, in 2007.
