Olafur Arnalds Show Announced As Part Of The ATP Icelandic Takeover

Wednesday 11th June, 2014

ATP Iceland have announced a programme of gigs on the nights between Neil Young & Crazy Horse (July 7th) and the second ATP Iceland festival (July 10-12th), including a special show by BAFTA-award winning composer Ólafur Arnalds at Hljómahöll on July 9th.

"I will perform with a couple of strings, and the plan is to make a personal and intimate atmosphere in Hljómahöllin," says Ólafur. "Hljómahöll is an exciting new concert venue and the festival presents one of the best line-ups I have seen in a long while."

The other show is an ATP label night on July 8th at Stapi in Hljómahöll, with live performances from Fuck Buttons, Hebronix and Eaux, and a DJ set from ATP founder Barry Hogan.

The festival already boasts a stellar lineup that includes Portishead, Interpol, Mogwai, Dlowdive, Shellac, Devendra Banhart (solo), Kurt Vile & The Violators, Swans, Loop, Low, Liars and many more. These shows are free for festival ticket holders, with limited tickets available to locals from Midi.is.

Says ATP Iceland organiser Tommi Young: "We now have six fantastic days of the worlds best music out there to offer guests at ATP Iceland. It seemed fitting to do shows between Neil Young show and ATP Iceland, and Hljómahöll is only 5 minutes away from the festival site, right next to the Icelandic Museum of Rock 'n' Roll in the the town of Reykjanesbær (Keflavik)."

This comes after the announcement of an on-site camping facility - the first in ATP's long history - decided upon as an extra on-site option via popular demand from the Icelandic festival-going public.

All of these shows are free admission for ATP Iceland weekend pass holders or week pass holders (Neil Young + ATP Iceland ticket). Please show your wristband or ticket by the door. Otherwise tickets can be brought HERE
